Autron Pro vs Autron Agent: Which Plan Is Right for You?

Autron offers two products — Pro for hands-off 24/7 campaign optimization, and the Agent for conversational analysis and on-demand actions. Here's how they differ, when to choose each, and how to use both together.

Written by Julian Timings

Autron offers two distinct products. They solve different problems, fit different working styles, and can run side-by-side on the same Amazon Ads account. This article walks through what each one does, who it's best for, and how to combine them.

Autron Pro — hands-off optimization

Autron Pro is Autron's original product: an algorithmic optimization engine that runs continuously on your Amazon Ads account. You set a business goal — a Max ACoS, Max TACoS, or Maximize Profit target — and Pro takes it from there.

What Pro handles for you:

  • 24/7 algorithmic bidding — bids are recalculated on an hourly cadence based on performance and your goal target.

  • Campaign creation and management — Pro builds and maintains Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaign structures from your catalog.

  • Placement optimization — Top of Search, Rest of Search, Product Pages, and Amazon Business placement multipliers are tuned continuously.

  • Keyword and ASIN expansion — winning search terms and products are surfaced and folded into new campaigns automatically.

  • Negative keyword management — wasted-spend search terms are added as negatives at scale.

  • All marketplaces, unlimited products — one subscription covers everything.

Pro is the right choice if you want to set a goal and step away — you'd rather have a system continuously optimizing in the background than manage the levers yourself.

Autron Agent — conversational AI on demand

Autron Agent is a newer conversational layer that connects to your Amazon Ads and Autron data. You ask questions in plain English; the Agent answers, surfaces visuals, and executes the changes you approve.

What the Agent is great at:

  • Performance Q&A — "How's my garlic press doing this month?" with drivers and comparisons.

  • Search Query Performance and keyword gaps — find which search terms drive purchases and where your listings have coverage gaps.

  • Profitability analysis — full breakdown from sales through COGS, fees, and ad spend to net profit.

  • Interactive dashboards — ask for a chart and the agent renders one inline.

  • On-demand campaign management — create, update, archive Sponsored Products campaigns, add positive or negative targets, update bids, adjust placements — with an Approve / Deny card for every change.

  • Multi-seller / multi-marketplace — switch context mid-conversation if you manage several accounts or regions.

  • Works in Claude and ChatGPT too — same agent, same data, your assistant of choice.

The Agent is the right choice if you want to understand your account, run focused experiments, react quickly to opportunities, or just chat with your data — with a full audit trail of every change in the Action log.

Can I use both?

Yes — and many sellers do. Pro and the Agent serve different roles, and they coexist on the same Amazon Ads account.

A simple mental model:

Pro is the always-on driver. The Agent is your co-pilot.
Pro keeps your bid optimization running continuously in the background. The Agent gives you a conversational front door to your data, and a way to intervene, explore, and explain.

How they complement each other

Use the Agent for the things Pro doesn't focus on:

  • Exploring data ("which search terms are driving the most sales?")

  • Reviewing profit margins and product economics

  • Surfacing search-query opportunities and listing gaps

  • Running one-off experimental campaigns

  • Auditing what's been changed and why

  • Managing multi-seller / multi-marketplace context

Let Pro handle what it does best:

  • 24/7 bid optimization across your whole portfolio

  • Continuous placement adjustments

  • Automatic campaign creation as your catalog grows

  • Large-scale negative keyword management

A note on overlap

Pro and the Agent don't currently coordinate directly with one another. If you use the Agent to set a specific bid on a campaign that Pro is actively managing, Pro will revisit that bid on its next optimization pass and may adjust it back toward your goal target.

In practice, this is rarely a problem if you use each tool for what it's best at — Pro for the routine bid-optimization loop, the Agent for analysis and changes outside that loop (negatives, new structures, ad-hoc experiments). If you want a specific bid to stick on a Pro-managed product, pause Pro's goal on that product first via Goals → By Product, then make the change in the Agent.

Choosing between them

If you…

Start with

Want full automation and rarely touch your ads

Pro

Want conversational access to your data but prefer to run campaigns yourself

Agent

Want analysis + insights in chat, with an LLM you already use (Claude/ChatGPT)

Agent

Want 24/7 optimization and a conversational way to dig in, intervene, and audit

Both

Not sure where to start? Pro includes a 30-day free trial and a 1:1 onboarding call — a low-risk way to see what hands-off optimization looks like on your account. You can add the Agent any time on top.

FAQ

Do I have to pick one?
No. The plans stack — many customers run both.

Can the Agent do everything Pro does?
Not today. The Agent can create and update Sponsored Products campaigns, manage targets, and adjust bids when you ask it to — but it doesn't run a continuous optimization loop the way Pro does. Pro also covers Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display.

Can Pro do everything the Agent does?
No — Pro is an automation engine, not a conversational interface. It doesn't surface keyword opportunities in chat or answer questions about your data. That's the Agent's job.

If I'm on Pro, do I need the Agent?
You don't need it, but most Pro users get value from it as a way to ask questions, audit changes, and explore profitability without learning a dashboard.

If I'm on the Agent, do I need Pro?
If you're comfortable making changes yourself and don't want continuous automated bidding, the Agent alone is enough. If you want hands-off 24/7 optimization, you'll want Pro.
