Skills: teach the Autron Agent how you work

A skill is reusable guidance the agent follows every time — your naming conventions, bid rules, or report format. How to create one in Settings → Skills, share it with your team, and attach it to a chat message or a routine.

A skill is guidance you write once and the Autron Agent follows every time you use it — your campaign naming convention, your bid-change rules, the way your agency formats a client report. Write it down instead of re-explaining it at the start of every conversation.

What a skill is

A skill is a piece of guidance you write once and the Autron Agent follows every time you use it. Instead of re-explaining your campaign naming convention, your bid-change rules, or the way your agency formats a client report at the start of every conversation, you save it as a skill and attach it when you need it.

Skills teach. If you need a rule the agent cannot break, you want Guardrails instead.

Creating a skill

  1. Go to Settings → Skills.

  2. Click New skill.

  3. Give it a name and write the guidance itself, then Create skill.

Write it the way you would brief a new colleague: what you want, when it applies, and anything to avoid. Plain English works better than keywords.

Mine, Team and Built-in

Skills sit under three tabs, each showing a count. Mine is your own. Team is shared with everyone in your company, so an agency can set a house standard once rather than per person. Built-in is a read-only set written by Autron — you cannot edit those, but you can use them.

Using a skill

Two places:

  • In chat — attach a skill to a single message when you want the agent to follow it, rather than having it apply to everything.

  • On a routine — attach skills to a scheduled routine so unattended runs follow the same rules your chats do.

Plan

Skills are part of the Autron Agent plan. On the free tier the Skills page shows an upgrade prompt instead of the library.
