Guardrails: rules the Autron Agent cannot break

Guardrails are enforced rules, not guidance — banned terms and limits the agent will not cross. How company-wide and per-seller rules interact, and when to use a guardrail instead of a skill.

Guardrails are rules the Autron Agent will not cross — banned terms and limits you set once and it enforces every time. Where a skill teaches the agent how you like to work, a guardrail is not negotiable.

Guardrails vs skills

A skill teaches the agent how you like to work. A guardrail enforces — it is a rule the agent will not cross, whatever the conversation says. Use a guardrail for anything where being ignored is unacceptable: competitor brand names, banned terms, spend limits.

Company-wide and per-seller rules

Guardrails have two scopes, shown as Company-wide and Sellers.

  • Company-wide rules apply everywhere and a single seller cannot override them. This is the compliance layer — set a policy once and it holds across every account you manage.

  • Seller rules add to that: blocked terms, limits, and exceptions for one account.

Where they disagree, a company ban wins over a seller allow.

Setting guardrails

  1. Go to Settings → Guardrails.

  2. Choose Company-wide, or pick an account under Sellers (use Search sellers… if you manage a lot).

  3. Add your banned terms and limits, then Save rules.

A limit left empty inherits the company value, which appears as the placeholder.

Built-in checks

Autron already checks every draft it writes against trademark and Amazon policy. If one of those checks is wrong for your account — a term Autron flags that you legitimately own — add it as an exception on that seller.

Plan

Guardrails are part of the Autron Agent plan; the free tier shows an upgrade prompt. Saving confirms with Company guardrails saved. or Seller guardrails saved. — if you do not see one of those, the rules did not save.
