Connect Amazon Advertising

The one connection Autron needs, the optional Selling Partner one, and what arrives once your history syncs.

Written by Julian Timings

Autron needs two Amazon permissions, and only the first is required. This article covers both, and what each one unlocks.

Step 1: Connect Amazon Advertising — required

This is the first thing the app asks for, and nothing works without it. Click Connect Amazon Advertising, sign in to Amazon, and approve the request. You come straight back.

This permission lets Autron read your campaigns, keywords, search terms and spend, and make the changes you ask for.

ℹ️ Sign in to the right account. Amazon logs you in wherever your browser is already signed in. If you manage several Amazon accounts, check the one shown on Amazon's approval screen before you approve.

Within a few minutes of connecting, your structural findings are ready — the things we can see in how your account is built, before any performance history has synced. They arrive by email and appear on your home page.

Step 2: Connect Selling Partner — optional

The Autron connect screen after Amazon Advertising is linked, showing the workspace name and the optional Amazon Selling Partner row

Advertising data tells us what your ads did. Selling Partner tells us what your business did, and it is what makes these possible:

  • Total sales and TACoS — ad spend measured against everything you sold, not just ad-attributed orders.

  • Profit — once you add your product costs, Autron can work in margin rather than revenue.

  • Listing checks — reading your listings to find gaps between what you sell and what you are found for.

You can add it later from the same screen. Nothing you have already set up is affected.

Step 3: Wait for your history to sync

Your advertising history takes a while to pull across — usually within a day. You can keep using Autron while it runs; some numbers simply will not be there yet.

When it finishes, your full performance audit is written and emailed to you: where your spend is going, which search terms are wasting it, and what to fix first. You do not have to be in the app for this to happen.

If you sell in more than one region

Amazon treats North America, Europe and the Far East as separate accounts, so each needs its own connection. Connect one, then add the others from Settings. See Connecting Amazon sellers and switching workspaces.

If the connection does not stick

  • You approved on the wrong Amazon account. Sign out of Amazon in that browser, then start the connection again.

  • Your Amazon user lacks permission. Advertising access has to be granted by someone with admin rights on the Amazon Ads account.

  • Autron says it cannot read your campaigns. The permission expired or was revoked on Amazon's side. Reconnect from the same screen — see Troubleshooting authorization issues.
