Manage Placement Bid Adjustments

Use the Autron AI Agent to set Sponsored Products placement bid multipliers — Top of Search, Rest of Search, Product Pages, and Amazon Business — through conversation.

Written by Julian Timings

Amazon lets you boost or reduce your bid based on where the ad shows up — Top of Search rows, Rest of Search rows, Product Pages, and the Amazon Business marketplace. The Autron AI Agent can read and update these placement adjustments for any of your Sponsored Products campaigns.

What are placement adjustments?

A placement adjustment is a percentage modifier applied to your bid for a specific placement:

  • Top of Search — the rows shown above the organic results on a search results page. Highest visibility, usually highest CTR.

  • Rest of Search — the remaining sponsored slots within the search results page (mid‑page, bottom‑page).

  • Product Pages — sponsored slots on detail pages.

  • Amazon Business — bids that apply when shoppers are signed in to Amazon Business accounts.

A positive percentage (e.g. +50%) raises your bid for that placement; a negative percentage (e.g. −25%) lowers it. Leaving a placement unset means it uses your base bid with no adjustment.

Range: placement adjustments can be between −99% and +900%.

Examples

Set or change adjustments

  • "Boost Top of Search by 50% on my garlic press campaign"

  • "Lower Product Pages by 25% across my Spoons campaigns"

  • "Set Top of Search to +75% and Rest of Search to +20% on my eco‑friendly campaign"

  • "Add a +30% Amazon Business adjustment to my B2B campaign"

Check what's there

  • "What placement adjustments are on my garlic press campaign?"

  • "Show me Top of Search multipliers across all my campaigns"

Clear adjustments

  • "Remove the Top of Search adjustment on my Spoons campaign" — clears one placement

  • "Clear all placement adjustments on my garlic press campaign" — wipes all of them

Adjustments you don't mention stay where they are. If you say "set Top of Search to +50%", any existing Rest of Search, Product Pages, or Amazon Business adjustments remain unchanged. Use "clear all" if you want a clean slate.

How changes are applied

Like any change to your account, placement updates show an Approve / Deny card before they're applied. You can preview the new percentages, see which campaigns are affected, and approve the whole batch with one click. Up to 50 campaigns per approval.

Tips

  • Top of Search is usually where to start. If your campaign is converting well but you want more volume, a +25–50% Top of Search boost is a common first move.

  • Watch your spend. A +900% multiplier is allowed but rarely sensible — Amazon will pay up to that limit when the placement is hot. Check your daily budget can absorb it.

  • Negative adjustments save spend. If a placement (e.g. Product Pages) consistently underperforms, ask the agent to lower it by 25–50% rather than turning the campaign off.

  • Review periodically. Ask "what placement adjustments do I have?" once a quarter to make sure none have outlived their original purpose.
